The Council is in the process of a comprehensive visual assessment of the use of the building exterior, which includes the patio and the landscape around it, being maintained within the Providence Forge Rules and Regulations.
As your governing body and elected members of Council, we have a fiduciary responsibility to interpret and enforce the Rules and Regulations set forth, and how they pertain to uniformity, aesthetics, maintenance and management of our buildings and grounds.
At the current time, a Council-issued a moratorium is in place with regard to patios and garden areas. As such, Council has a hold on approving any and all patio installations and any changes to the Common Elements. You may still complete your request on the Architectural Form and submit with supportive documentation such as pictures, diagrams, contractor proposals, etc., but it will be held until which time the moratorium is lifted.
Please be aware that should you plant anything or install any type of patio on the Common Elements, you will be in violation of the moratorium and will be subject to fines and possible legal fees associated with such action. The only exception to this is the upkeep of weeding and the addition of black mulch only to the existing mulched flower beds surrounding the exterior of your unit. An announcement will be made once this restriction has been lifted and the Council will provide details on what is acceptable and Association-approved. In the meantime, we appreciate your cooperation and compliance.
